Asset manager WisdomTree has launched 14 tokenized funds on Plume, a blockchain tailored for real-world asset (RWA) finance, enhancing access for institutional investors to regulated on-chain investment products.
The funds, accessible through WisdomTree Connect, include the firm’s Government Money Market Digital Fund and CRDT Private Credit and Alternative Income Fund, enabling investors to hold, transfer, and settle positions directly on Plume’s blockchain network, as stated in an announcement on Thursday.
The listings are a component of WisdomTree’s multi-chain approach to make its regulated products available across various blockchains.
In conjunction with the rollout, Galaxy Digital announced a $10 million allocation to WisdomTree’s Government Money Market Digital Fund, highlighting early institutional engagement.
“WisdomTree’s tokenized funds demonstrate how regulated products can flourish within a compliant, permissionless environment,” Luke Xiao, head of partnerships at Plume, remarked in the announcement.
Unlike general-purpose blockchains such as Ethereum or Polygon, Plume incorporates KYC and AML compliance directly at the protocol level, providing built-in safeguards such as wallet screening and sanctions enforcement.
Plume, which has recently gained registration as a transfer agent with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), reportedly has over 276,000 RWA holders and approximately $600 million in tokenized assets, making it the largest blockchain by RWA participants.
For WisdomTree, this development broadens its on-chain presence beyond Ethereum and Stellar. The company, which manages over $100 billion in traditional assets, oversees about $650 million in tokenized assets. Its digital funds are SEC-registered 1940 Act products, facilitating on-chain transfers between verified wallets via soulbound NFTs that maintain AML and KYC protocols.
“Adding Plume allows investors access to diversified tokenized fund strategies and more efficient settlement, while upholding compliance standards,” stated Maredith Hannon, Head of Business Development for Digital Assets at WisdomTree.
This partnership further emphasizes the increasing competition among asset managers – including Franklin Templeton and BlackRock – to introduce regulated investment vehicles on-chain, as institutions seek blockchain’s potential to optimize operations and create new avenues for distribution and liquidity.
