    New DePIN Launches Marketplace Featuring ZK-Proof Processing

    Brevis, a zero-knowledge proof (ZK-proof) coprocessor, has launched its marketplace, enabling users to earn by computing ZK-proofs.

    In a Monday announcement, Brevis revealed that the “ProverNet” decentralized physical infrastructure (DePIN) network allows applications to utilize ZK-proof proving capacity, while computing providers can earn income by generating proofs. Currently, the network operates with Circle’s USDC (USDC) stablecoin as its native settlement currency.

    However, Brevis aims to transition to the yet-to-be-released BREV token when ProverNet exits beta and launches its mainnet. Upon the mainnet launch, the system will also introduce prover staking and slashing for “misbehavior or missed deadlines.”

    Currently, ProverNet facilitates proving task distribution via a continuous auction, USDC payment settlement, and matching of prover registration and jobs. Provers can register and begin competing for jobs, while applications can submit proof requests directly to the network.

    Not new to the game

    Computing ZK-proofs demands significant computational resources, making it impractical for developers or users to compute them independently, especially when large quantities of proofs are required.

    Brevis has long been a provider of ZK-proof processing solutions for the industry. The firm announced in late 2023 that it supported Uniswap v4 hooks to trustlessly read and compute the transaction history of traders and liquidity providers.

    In October, Uniswap unveiled a routing rebate program built on its technology, announcing that Brevis received a grant for its development. Earlier this year, Brevis also revealed a partnership involving MetaMask, Linea, and Brevis to offer ZK Proof-powered rewards to MetaMask Card users.

    PancakeSwap also integrates Brevis’s infrastructure for ZK-proof processing. Following a 2024 Binance investment, it was also used to enable trustless crosschain restaking infrastructure on BNB Chain.

    Brevis claims to have processed over 250 million proofs in collaboration with more than 30 partners. The organization noted that ZK-proof workloads are highly variable, which inspired the creation of ProverNet to ensure sufficient flexibility:

    “From this point forward, applications gain access to specialized capacity without vendor lock-in, while provers can find workloads suited to their hardware. The ecosystem benefits from shared infrastructure rather than fragmented silos,” they stated.

    A DePIN with usage from day one

    In its announcement, Brevis also emphasizes that it is already “gradually migrating” production workloads to ProverNet. Currently, the service is transitioning “a subset of Ethereum block execution proving from ETHProofs.”

    ETHPoofs is a public-facing service for generating ZK-proofs of Ethereum block execution — verifying what is contained in specific blocks. This enables crosschain verification for trust-minimized bridging and other applications.
