The Ethereum Foundation is aiming to capitalize on the rising adoption of artificial intelligence by establishing a new dedicated team.
Summary
- The Ethereum Foundation has created a new team focused on artificial intelligence.
- The dAI Team aims to position Ethereum as a leading AI platform, contributing to its recognition as a top blockchain network.
The Ethereum Foundation’s initiative focused on artificial intelligence will be led by the dAI Team, which includes developers and AI specialists under the direction of core developer Davide Crapis.
Crapis announced on Monday that the primary goal of the dAI Team is to accelerate the integration of artificial intelligence and the machine economy on Ethereum. In a post on X, Crapis stated that the team will showcase Ethereum as the leading blockchain for a decentralized AI economy.
The dAI Team will also focus on building an agentic ecosystem aimed at empowering AI agents that operate without intermediaries.
“We believe Ethereum can serve today’s AI developers just as well as it will serve future needs in a sci-fi landscape. This is why we intend to collaborate closely with ecosystem projects to foster progress and explore research and innovation at the nexus of AI and blockchains, bridging two communities that often work independently,” highlighted Crapis.
EF’s commitment to Ethereum development
The establishment of the dAI Team is part of recent initiatives by the Ethereum Foundation as the Switzerland-based non-profit continues to back the growth of the Ethereum (ETH) network.
Providing critical support to ecosystem stakeholders like researchers and developers, the Ethereum Foundation’s actions contribute to milestones including the network’s transition from proof-of-work to proof-of-stake. The EF has also played a significant role in enhancing the altcoin’s blockchain through initiatives involving zero-knowledge proofs, layer-2 scaling, and a range of other improvements.
In an effort to boost blockchain adoption, the EF restructured its leadership in June and announced a pause in its open grants to refine its support framework. Additional milestones include an update to the foundation’s privacy roadmap, which outlines a rebranding aimed at reinforcing user protection.
According to Crapis on X, the dAI Team will primarily focus on unlocking AI use cases and utilizing AI to enhance user experience, developer experience, and security in forthcoming phases.
