Chasing Life-Changing Dreams Through Crypto in To The Moon
To The Moon broadcasts on MBC, South Korea’s top free-to-air public broadcaster known for hits like Coffee Prince and Dae Jang Geum. The Friday–Saturday 10 pm timeslot is a prime position for national exposure. It will also be accessible via streaming in Taiwan, Indonesia, and India.
The narrative focuses on three low-income women employed at a sizable confectionery company. Frustrated with their stagnant office jobs, they turn to cryptocurrency during the country’s first major bull run, when regulations were lax and news outlets highlighted tales of students and retirees investing their savings in digital assets.
The series is adapted from a bestseller published in 2021, reflecting on the 2017–2018 crypto boom. One woman’s early profits motivate her friends to invest, yet their outcomes vary, illustrating the potential and pitfalls of unregulated speculation.
Director Oh Da-young characterized the series as realistic yet entertaining, blending hyperrealism, comedy, and light romance.
“This is not a fantasy involving time travel or grand villains. It’s a modest production that will resonate with female office workers.”
