Ether’s price has experienced a challenging quarter; however, the ether $6,500 call remains the top option regarding open interest on Deribit.
Currently, the notional open interest in the $6,500 call, which signifies the dollar value of the active contracts, stands at $383.533 million, marking the highest among all ether options on the platform, as per data source Deribit Metrics. Other notable options include calls at $4,000, $5,500, and $6,000.
A call option at the $6,500 strike suggests a belief that the spot price will exceed that threshold. Thus, a call buyer is inherently optimistic about the market.
This quarter, ether’s spot price has declined by 26% to $3,033. At one point last month, prices dipped below $2,650, according to CoinDesk data.
